Venue watch: Tullyveery House

Situated 20 minutes from Belfast & just 2 & a half hours from Dublin, nestled in the drumlins of Co. Down, Tullyveery House is the perfect venue for couples looking to get away from it all.

Tullyveery House offers a host of outdoor & indoor ceremony locations {because yes, you can get married outside in Northern Ireland- lucky ducks!}

Within the grounds there is a purpose built marquee site.

The grounds also provide ample opportunity for wonderful wedding photographs with walled gardens, perfectly manicured lawns & a wonderfully quaint summerhouse.

I must admit that 'olde worlde' is generally not my thing but Tullyveery has changed my mind. I was bowled over by it's beauty.

I would recommend this for couples looking for a secluded location & to have their wedding their way.

contingency plans

Right folks it's the middle of august & i'm not sure about where you are but today it is lashing rain in ireland & quite miserable.

we all know irish weather is unpredictable but this year it seems to be more unpredictable than ever.

so ... {& i don't mean to put a curse on you, or worry the living daylights out of you}

but have you thought about what to do if it rains on your big day?

firstly, don't panic. my friend got married last year & out of the whole week her big day was the only day it rained. & it did not ruin everything.

secondly, if you are having an outdoor drinks reception / cocktail hour ensure that there is an alternative area within your venue that can accommodate your guests {this it means you get to choose the best place in the venue}

thirdly, ensure there are umbrellas in the wedding transport & at the venue {so you & your nearest & dearest don't get saturated}

fourthly, ensure you have some indoor / sheltered areas chosen for your beautiful photographs.

embrace the rain

hope this helps

design process

w hen we make a visit to your venue we will do a full architectural analysis{ this is particularly useful if you are having a marquee wedding } & afterwards will provide you with a scale design that will not only suit your venue but will suit you as a future married couple.

here is a sample of the design for the upcoming marquee wedding of septemberbride

this takes into account the size of the marquee, the number of guests & the positioning of all elements of the wedding reception.
this allows you to ensure you have the correct amount of space for all the elements you would like to include
{& more importantly all of your guests}

this ensures that the vision you have for your special day will be a dream come true.
